A native Midwesterner, Stacey Davidson now lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where she teaches painting at Winthrop University.
artist statement
I am a painter who makes dolls. The dolls are actors, instruments that I use to work through things that I can’t shake or don’t understand. I sketch with sculpture. Pictures get made through 3 dimensions. What’s painful gets processed through play. Play also allows me to court the unknown and to welcome in delight.
