The main focus of Kim Schmidt Fine Art, LLC is making art accessible by helping private, institutional and corporate collectors engage with art beyond the confines of galleries and museums. Working with both seasoned and first-time collectors, Kim assists clients in acquiring and divesting, helping to build portfolios reflecting the passions and economic goals of collectors. Her emphasis is on fostering long-term relationships that will benefit not only from Kim’s close relationships with artists and cultural institutions, but also her network of leading galleries, dealers and auction houses.

Prior to launching Kim Schmidt Fine Art in 2021, Kim worked as the New York Director of Crown Point Press, publishing editions with artists such as; John Cage, Francesco Clemente, Richard Diebenkorn, Al Held, Pat Steir and Wayne Thiebaud among others. She went on to join Marlborough Gallery in New York where she ran the Graphics Department and was a director of sales for nearly 20 years. This was followed by 7 years with Mary Ryan and Ryan Lee in Chelsea.

As a native New Yorker, Kim grew up with parents who were art collectors and museum devotees. She majored in art at Universities in the U.S. and abroad. This ignited a great interest in 20th century and contemporary photography, sculpture, painting and drawing and established the path to a career in the art world.
